Mary Clare Coghlan is a senior lecturer at Johns Hopkins’ Center for Leadership Education in the Whiting School of Engineering.  She is a 2005 graduate of Towson University where she studied Biology. As team captain, she guided the Women’s Volleyball Team to the Colonial Athletic  Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament. After playing professional volleyball in Europe, she was commissioned as a Naval Officer to recruit and mentor Division I volleyball players and future Naval and Marine Corps leaders at The United States Naval Academy.   She spent 7 years at Northwestern Mutual in selection, onboarding and development of financial professionals. Her M.A in Organizational Leadership is from Gonzaga University.  Coghlan combines her journey of athletics, education, military and business to help Hopkins’ students create their best selves for current and future teams. She is the faculty advisor for Omicron Delta Kappa and Hopkins Student Veterans Association. She is passionate about coaching girls’ volleyball and is involved in multiple local organizations to help veterans, youth, and animals.
